We are proud to have become Silver Corporate supporters of the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Trust. The ARC Trust, as they are also known, undertakes vital work in the conservation of the UK's reptiles and amphibians through a variety of programmes. We became aware of them through their work close to our offices, and on Tim's offroad bike commute, in Witley Common. Their work in Surrey on the sandy common lands is really important in protecting lowland heathland that is home to species such as the smooth snake and the rare sand lizard (Lacerta agilis).

Happy Birthday Cycling! Today sees the 200th anniversary of the very first bicycle ride, by one Baron Karl von Drais, in Mannheim, Germany. Legend has it that on that day, Herr Drais revealed his new invention to an expectant crowd - a two-wheeled vehicle propelled by its rider called “The Draisienne” – before setting off on an 8 mile round trip which he apparently completed in just under an hour. And thus, cycling was born.

Innovation Visual are proud to have been selected by the Google Partners team to join their prestigious Google Elevator programme for agencies that demonstrate excellence and high growth potential. The six-month intensive program based out of Google’s St Giles building in London is led by marketing agency guru Robert Craven. Only 30 of the UK’s nearly 600 Google Partner Agencies were invited to be part of Google Elevator in 2017.

The Presidents Cup, Taekwondo Athens April 27th to 30th

We are proud to announce that Phoenix Goodman had been selected to compete in the Presidents Cup in Athens. Phoenix and her team mates are young and talented athletes from the British Taekwondo South Club, Hampshire. Seven girls were selected to take part in the G2 competition which is a competition at a more advanced level. They also travelled away with two coaches and a team manager.

British Taekwondo South Club was started by Master Joe Brown who originally formed Independent Taekwondo as a member of the British Taekwondo Federation (BTF).  After the BTF merged with the UK National Governing Body, (British Taekwondo Control Board, BTCB) Joe went on to form British Taekwondo South. 

Black Belt for Taekwondo Champion Phoenix Goodman

 As you know Innovation Visual are sponsoring a young athlete called Phoenix Goodman who is an up and coming Taekwondo champion. As part of Phoenix’s continuing development we are proud to say that Phoenix passed her Taekwondo Black Belt on Saturday, which is a huge achievement.

 

What is a Black Belt in Taekwondo?

As you learn the art of Taekwondo a student will pass a series of grading represented by varying colour belts. For Black Belt there is a Junior Black Belt and a full (senior) Black Belt. The only difference between the two as far as grading requirements go are the number of boards broken during the grading.
