Our amazing team has wowed the judges with their hard work and impressive client results by being selected as finalists in the category of Best Global Small Agency of the Year at the Global Agency Awards 2020! Winners will be announced at the live streamed awards ceremony on 10th September and we have everything crossed! Read on to learn why we were recognised.
The Global Agency Awards is hosted online by DontPanic! as part of their Agency Awards series. The Global Agency Awards allows agencies from a wide range of industries to pit themselves against each other and battle it out to see who really has the ability and talent to shine on a global stage.
This category welcomed nominations from Agencies with fewer than 25 employees from around the globe who are doing great work on a local and international level. We had a few to choose from but finally settled on three client success stories to highlight in our entry. We also wanted to emphasise the culture of Innovation Visual in our entry as our incredible team are behind everything we do, and it is incredibly important that they are recognised for their hard work and the dedication they have to achieving results for clients.
We chose to highlight the ABM campaigns we have created for one of our client Applaud HR as part of our entry. We have had great success in integrating platforms, including, Google Analytics, Google Ads, LinkedIn and HubSpot, as well as our skills at accurately segmenting audiences, to increase the number and quality of leads.
Our work with David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) has been a real labour of love for all the team involved in helping this fantastic conservation charity to thrive under the worst conditions that 2020 could throw at it. Our management of their Ad Grants and focus on conversion rate optimisation tactics saw their conversion rate improve more than 10 fold – without any increase to their spend.
We donated our time free of charge to DSWF to rebuild their website which included providing search engine optimisation services, completely free. The site went live in May, ready for their annual event ‘Wildlife Artist of the Year,’ and in the first afternoon alone, the website raised £12,000 in online sales.
Scientific Management International (SMI) posed a complex challenge as their target audience was very, very small. Innovation Visual were able to show that when done right digital marketing can be the key to efficiently accessing your target market, no matter how precise.
The strategy comprised of a powerful combination of effective content strategy, SEO, paid search, account-based marketing, and precision audience targeting. Through our joint working, SMI have increased their website users by 236%, conversions by 339% and engagement from social media by nearly 800%!

The entire Innovation Visual team is passionate about wildlife and its preservation. As part of our commitment we have signed up to donate a minimum of 1% of our entire turnover to environmental causes each year as members of the 1% for the Planet Organisation. We do this from the company profits, so it does not affect the prices we charge to customers for our work. We also have various environmental initiatives that we promote throughout the organisation including reduction of single use plastics by issuing reusable water bottles to each member of our team and also to our clients!
Our Mission states that we want to be a joy to work with and for. Setting it in stone like that makes this desire core to our ethos. Our culture and values are defined and lived top down helping the entire team engage with them. We have grown closer, not further apart since lockdown and are always talking to each other, sharing insights, updates or simply catch up just for a chat. We have various channels set up on Microsoft Teams and messenger apps where we discuss everything, from digital marketing news to the expected vegetable crop of our gardens. We bookend each day with an agile team ‘huddle’ to check in with where we are on various projects. We also hold weekly well-being check-ins, which are private and used to support our teammates and to gauge the overall wellbeing of the company.
Innovation Visual reacted quickly when the effects of Covid-19 started to be felt. Firstly, in ensuring the safety of the team, who adapted to home working seamlessly and whilst maintaining the high level of output that our clients have come to expect. Using communication platforms that were already in place to keep in touch with our remote working colleagues, our team has managed to maintain and build cohesion by adapting the ways we work and support each other. This includes weekly well-being check-ins, twice daily agile huddles and regular all hands social calls to support morale. Our new strategy for home working has proven so effective that we are planning to stay as a home working business permanently. Our decision is supported by the fact that we have been able to increase the value add to our clients and gained many clients during and since lockdown.
We are delighted to have been able to retain a full complement of staff without the need to furlough anyone. We have, in fact added to our team with two new team members joining in June and July to help manage the increased workload. In uncertain times we are not only surviving but thriving and helping our clients to do the same.
Innovation Visual doesn’t just deliver digital marketing excellence to our clients. We are a hub of education and training too. From our commitment to weekly training quotas for our staff to our programme of webinars that we provide to our clients on a monthly basis , we know that the knowledge we share contributes not only to our success but the success of everyone around us. From the clever use of data between platforms to the philanthropic attitudes of our Directors and how this extends throughout the company, we are immensely proud of the hard work of our Team and the results they achieve week in, week out. We feel the industry should acknowledge their achievements, because it is our people who deliver our business success.
The business results generated for our clients are all due to the commitment and hard work of our team of dedicated and talented digital marketeers.
The virtual awards ceremony will take place on 10th September at 8pm BST, and we already have the champagne on ice!
